The Kitchen

This is my favorite all time hobby (cooking and writing).  I love to cook and I love to experiment.  I love to write about everything and anything so what better hobby to have?

The best thing about walking into my kitchen is the smell coming from the oven or from the pot of whatever happens to be simmering on top of the stove.  I like to think that is how people feel whenever they walk into my kitchen.  They feel warm and comfortable and their belly growls with excitement of what's cooking.

When you read my blog, you may as well be walking into my kitchen.  There is always something good to eat, and there is always a new recipe to taste, sitting out on the table.  The cookie jar is always full, and when you leave my kitchen I'm pretty sure your belly will be full too.  So pull up a chair, kick off your shoes, and have snack.

In Crackerberries world, the it's all about the kitchen, and the details fill the pantry with specialty items.

So c'mon in and make yourself at home.

*******

Breakfast and then some is served right up hot
Join me in cooking; we'll chat and whatnot.

Sausage gravy on top of a biscuit,
Cooked smooth without lumps, I’m sure to whisk it.

A side of grits with shredded cheddar cheese;
two poached eggs on toast will surly please.

Fresh squeezed orange juice and a plate full of fruit;
piping hot coffee fills the mug up, to boot.

Come into my kitchen and pull up a chair,
No clothes do I wear so please try not to stare.

I’ll cook you a meal that sure to satisfy,
when lunch rolls around the chicken I’ll fry.

Oven hot cornbread and fresh collard greens,
Black-eyed peas and your choice of lima beans

Sweet tea and lemonade in a tall glass
Or Vodka spritzer garnished with sassafras.

Come into my kitchen and sit right down,
I’ll fix up some lunch I won’t make you frown.

Maybe you’d prefer something less filling,
Look, in the fridge, “Oh my!” its pie, chilling.

A lemon meringue or maybe key lime;
and strawberry shortcake if you have time.

A hot cup of tea with sugar cookies
Whatever you want, all kinds of goodies.

It doesn’t matter in my kitchen you see,
everyone is welcome to come visit me.

Beautiful blog, good pic's and good recipes. I am just about to sow okra and if I get a lot I like to use your recipe for pickling.
