Homemade Dog Biscuits

Fido Bone Treats

Spare the rod, spoil the dog.

2½ cups flour
¾ cup grits
½ cup shortening
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 cups chicken/beef/pork fat, cooked and ground

Combine 2¼ cups flour, grits and brown sugar and mix well.  Cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.  Stir in egg and meat fat until moistened; place on floured surface.  Divide dough into 1½ tbsp portions and using your thumb and forefinger, create dog bones.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet and back at 375ΒΊ 25-30 minutes until crisp.

I do not know what they taste like, but they smelled real good cooking and the dogs LOVE them.
